Why I’m Changing My Business – 3 Passive Income Streams
Here’s the thing, I’m completely changing my business and I want you to know about it…
Recently, I’ve been looking to do 2 things in my business… # 1 deliver more quality content because there’s too many marketers (almost all of them) that are skipping quality content altogether and going the route of promoting free or paid products only.
While that’s where the money is actually made, it’s also important to build up the knowledge of your existing customers. If you learn something new than, that tells me I’m doing my job and it shows you that I care about you and want you to succeed – and that ain’t a bunch of crap!
Like Frank Kern says “give cool stuff to your list (followers) …and they’ll actually want more from you” or something like that (I’d be doing a disservice to you if it where any other way). I agree with that 100% yet I know many of you don’t have the time for info overload. That’s why I’m trying to deliver a healthy balance of good info you can actually use and make money with – sounds like exactly what you need right?
OK Cool
Now on to #2 you’ll love this…
“Passive Income”
That’s what I’m going to be focusing more of my business on & it’s really why I got into internet marketing in the first place. We all want more time to have fun right? …yet most internet marketers work 12+ hours a day, how are you going to enjoy life doing that? …you won’t have time!
…then we need to get working on setting up some passive income streams!
I’ve been slacking on my ‘work’ lately and this is why passive income works for me, as I’m sure it would work for you. What can I say? I like to enjoy life and my freedom from the 9 to 5 ‘day job’ and I want to help you get the same. Plus having fun on the boat during the week is awesome …I had the whole lake to myself a few times!
That’s why I’ll be revealing some great stuff right here and now to get you going…
There’s 2 good ways to work less and still make good money… focus (on what will have the biggest impact) and automation as much as possible through setting up systems for the best time management and using automation software.
There’s a lot of automation software out there and it really depends on your business model, I’ll go over a few of my passive income business models with you here, giving you plenty of great ideas to run with – so you could set up a passive or nearly passive income stream starting today.
Then you have more time to spend on other things – like for me I workout almost every day… I lift weights 2 to 4 days a week (in the summer more like 2) and I also go running a few days per week. It’s great when you make the time to exercise like this because it clears your mind, relieves stress and allows you to build up your energy level and your health …among other things (great for your business and life).
One of my nearly passive income streams is list building, I want to be able to reach a lot of internet marketers that need my help. I do this by doing ad swaps (exchanging subscribers) with part of my list. The cool thing I do that nobody else does is I give you the option to be on my ad swap list or my list that doesn’t get ad swap emails as I know some people like it and some don’t. – It’s an almost completely passive stream of traffic once you got a list going and use automation ad swapping software.
Ok so you still have to write emails, find good products and deliver value… but if you enjoy internet marketing it’s actually a great use of time and doesn’t take that long to maintain once you get going… or you can promote the same stuff I do, trust me I do my homework before I ever recommend you buy a product.
You could also do ‘offline marketing‘ doing simple task for small businesses in your area or another city. I’d consider this passive because you can actually hire someone else to do each of the task required to run this type of business. Although, you may want to actually talk with the business owner personally and make the deals personally (you don’t have to).
Think about it… you can hire someone to make a list of businesses to contact, they simply do Google searches for your local area, or by looking at yellow pages for your area (hint: also has an online version).
Next you would want to find interested clients, you can have others do this as well – like: cold calling, sending emails, sending postcards or letters can all be done by someone else!
Setting up the deal with the small business owner can also be done by someone else (but again you’ll want to consider doing this yourself) Just make sure you find someone that understands marketing and knows how to pitch your service and what price to ask for.
Finally, doing the actual job… this can easily be outsource and for a relatively low cost …and you can charge them $100+ per month on top of the initial charge!
There you have another business that can bring in a lot of money and can be completely passive!
I was thinking I already gave you a lot, but I decided to tell you about another really good passive income stream …that can be completely hands off, just because I like you and I appreciate you reading this – I do!
Blogging
Yup, blogging is one of the best hands off income streams you can create… and with all the new software that comes out on an almost daily basis, it will only get easier to set up passive income using automated blogs.
Personally, I’ve tried blogs that were completely automated and partially automated and would recommend going the partially automated route – think about people and the search engines… they like quality unique content (even if duplicate content penalty is a myth).
The key is to go after low competition keywords if you’re going after search engine rankings – micro niche finder is a great tool for this (saves a ton of time), but you can also go after direct traffic from other sites both free traffic from article directories, forums and other high traffic sites (blogs) and paid traffic like banner ads on popular sites within your niche.
Personally, I like getting article and social media/networking traffic and building up my search engine rankings that way, I target low competition buyer keywords so that it’s easier to rank high in the search engines. If the site really pulls in the money then I’d buy banner advertising on other sites.
There you have it, 3 great almost passive income streams you can start building today… yes, there’s work involved, but it will pay off in the long run, you just got to see the opportunity and go for it!
Thanks for reading, if you enjoyed this please share it with your friends online

holy crap Jeff, this is freakin awesome stuff… you just gave me a great sense of where I want my business to be, I think I’m going to follow in your footsteps and start working on all 3 of these
I can’t even describe how much this has helped me out right now
Hey Max awesome man!
can’t wait to here how it goes for you… glad you got some good ideas here
What you have to say here makes all the sense in the world.Ill have to incorporate this into my business if i ever make friends with IM, not an easy chore but it is slowly getting easier if i just dont die from old age first! Thanx alot for the info. Thomas Case
Hi Jeff
You know I am going down a similar route myself – not quite the same but along similar lines.
I am still not made up with Ad Swaps, they dont deliver any value to the readers and affect their attention span thus in the medium term burning out parts of your list.
Its a good idea being up front and giving them the choise though, I like that.
Despite this I am almost at the stage of giving up on them altogether and reverting to building a list slowly with giveaways, squidoos, articles, videos etc which doesn’t deal with the time issue but if you have software that supports you for articles and vids it becomes a matter of following the processes you put in place.
The other thing I am deliving into is Niche Blogging – something different to the IM Niche. I think with the marketing knowledge we have it should be used on other end products – alternative fuels is looking good.
Great post by the way
Pete
hey Pete I took a break from ad swaps for a while, but now I’m hoping my new system of giving everyone a choice will work out, I know people get burned out from them – so hopefully my new system will solve that…
it’s funny, I just bought a PLR product of yours today (didn’t know it was yours until after I bought it)
as far as the blogs are concerned, I’m mostly going outside of internet marketing (exept for this blog and a copywriting blog and a small offline business targeting blog)
will talk with you later
Jeff thanks for the purchase – their pretty well put together sales pages for that site you bought.
Funny thing is I havent sold many at all – I expect them to go like hot cakes
